Reimagining ribbon through motion, form, and color.

Unfold: Form & Flourish explores the intersection of graphic design, materiality, and CGI craftsmanship. Inspired by the organic structure of flowers, we transformed ribbon into a series of sculptural blooms that blur the line between the natural and the designed. The project became an opportunity to experiment with simulation, lighting, and composition while uncovering unexpected beauty within a familiar material.

As the project evolved, color became a tool for exploration in its own right. By experimenting with complementary palettes, tonal gradients, and unexpected combinations, we discovered how subtle shifts in hue could dramatically alter the visual rhythm and emotional character of each bloom. Every variation became a unique expression of the same underlying form, revealing how color can reshape perception without changing the structure itself.

As the blooms evolved, we turned our attention to what supports them. Rather than recreating botanical stems literally, we extended the language of ribbon into elegant, flowing structures that suggest growth and movement. Curling leaves and elongated stems became natural extensions of each bloom, creating compositions that feel rooted in nature while remaining unmistakably graphic.

Every finished bloom began as a simple exploration. Early sketches, animatics, and material studies gave us the freedom to experiment with form, movement, and composition before refining each design. Working with simplified geometry, foundational textures, and rapid iterations allowed ideas to evolve naturally, shaping both the creative direction and the technical approach behind the final collection.
